Look what God can do in one single life. Amazing redemptive story. Thanks for sharing Dawn Dyer

I shared this last year on this day. I think it’s worth sharing again with a few number changes.

God has pulled me and family through some seriously trying times this year... and the same still applies. “As long as I have breathe in my lungs, I will keep sharing what God has done for me.”

”9 years ago today, I died.

I've shared my testimony many times both long and short versions. And as long as I have breathe in my lungs, I will keep sharing what God has done for me.

So, what has God done for me?

I was living as a homosexual and an alcoholic, I was a horrible mother to my girls and was one the most self absorbed people anyone has ever met. I was, of course, a victim of this that or the other and had every excuse in the world to be sad and depressed. I was very "entitled".

The life I chose to live was one of sexual sin. YES. Homosexuality is a sin. You can disagree, but just know you are disagreeing with God. My choices led me to a depression that on my own I could not get out of.

On this day, 9 years ago, I decided to end my life. There was a moment, laying in my own blood, barely breathing, unable to form words, that I prayed. I asked God to save me.

He met me there that day on that cold floor. I thought I was completely alone, but He was there the whole time, patiently waiting.

I have since completely surrendered my life to Him. My life today is better than it ever was.

I am so excited about what the Lord is doing in my life and what He is calling me to do.

The salvation He offers is free to you and me. Jesus paid the price for our sin... ALL of our sin. No, we do not pick and choose what is sin or not, what is acceptable or not. We are to live for Him and obey Him alone according to His word.

In Acts 13:39 below it says "by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses." Meaning, we fail and cannot live a perfect righteous life. So Jesus came down and died on the cross so that our sins can be forgiven. How awesome and great is He!

My life is pretty awesome and blessed today, and I'm thankful for every breathe that He has given me. I'm thankful that on June 29, 2010 God answered my prayer, and is still answering my prayer to this day.

So, what has God done for me?

He has given me the gift of salvation.

He has redeemed me.

I have an abundance of joy that can only come from my Redeemer.

My life is restored, and is better than it has ever been.

9 years ago, I was born again.

Acts 13:38-39,46-48,52

38 Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us:

‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,

That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”

48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 61:3,10

To console those who mourn in Zion,

To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,

My soul shall be joyful in my God;

For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,

He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”

I can so relate. As a brand new Christian, the church I was in quickly slipped into Inner Healing and psychology. Lots more to tell, but when your faith is in Christ for everything, you're full of Joy
